Ten Year Hard-surface Road Plan

A paved (or hard surface) road assessment was completed in November 2016. This report classified each road based on traffic volume and the type of paving it has (either chip seal surface or hot mix asphalt). They were then graded from failed to excellent.   road-hard-surface-rolling

Based on this information, a 10-year road works plan was developed along with a budget that will provide the resources to properly maintain the roads for the lowest long-term costs. Click here to view the 2016 Hard Surface Road Assessment and Ten-Year Capital Plan report.

Hard surface road work in 2017 includes rebuilding McKay Road from Henderson Highway to the tracks, resurfacing a portion of Donald Road, applying a second coat of chip seal to Ferry Road and Marvin Gardens and several other small projects.

The gravel budget increased by 8% to $600,000 while the dust control budget was retained at $290,000.

No new hard surface roads are planned for 2017.
